We as human beings have something we have a passion for- no matter how ridiculous or outstanding the passion. Most people, when choosing their career paths, choose something that’s going to give them the most money. What people need to realize is that it’s not all about the money, but the passion you have for something to have dedication to make it everyday. That’s just the case for my decision in choosing to major in EMAC.
During my sophomore year in high school, we were all forced to be in groups for English to do projects depending on what we were studying. At that time we were reading a book. The book was called “When I was a Puerto Rican.” The teacher told us to be as creative as possible for our projects. Many students decided to do the obvious work of PowerPoint Presentations or even a simple game exercise. I didn’t want to be like the rest. I wanted to be different. So I threw an odd idea for my group- to make a video. My friends from the group thought it was genius! Everyone loved our final product! That’s when my love for making videos became into something I can actually do for a living. From then on I started to make videos for most of my presentations- big or small. I wanted to go professional! I just didn’t exactly know where to start. When my senior year came, I knew college was soon approaching, and I had to choose a major fast! That’s when I learned about EMAC and didn’t hesitate to declare that as my major.
Although the major is new, I doubt that this major has something big in store for me and other students majoring in this field. I’m hoping to further my skills in video making along with other media and history. I have major ideas in store, I just hope I can put them together someday and make it BIG!
